The present study examines the fortuna in the Middle Ages of the Galenic work in fourteen books on Therapeutics, the De Methodo medendi or Therapeutica, known also in the medieval centuries under the titles Ars magna, Megategni and De ingenio sanitatis. After tracing the history of the translations of this text into Latin from the Arabic and the Greek, the study focuses on the De Methodo medendi's place in the medical curricula of the medieval universities.
